Adobe BC Email Account Security Updates

For clients using Adobe Business Catalyst email hosting, please ensure your settings are updated as soon as possible, as detailed below.

As part of Adobe's ongoing commitment to security and enhancements made to their authentication infrastructure, they have updated their integration with the email hosting provider. There are two steps you will need to carry out for each email account to complete the upgrade as detailed below. For the least amount of disruption, I recommend that you carry out both changes at the same time, as soon as possible (before 17 November 2015).

1) Login to webmail by 17 November 2015

This is a quick and easy process, simply login to your email account via this webmail link https://mail.worldsecureemail.com/. This will verify with Adobe that the email account is active and the settings will be applied to your email account. You can then logout again.

Please ensure you repeat this process for each email account you are running.

Please note the importance of completing this step before 17 November 2015 to prevent your email password from automatically being reset by Adobe.

2) Update your email settings by 31 March 2016

While you will be able to continue using the existing email settings until 31st March 2016, it is recommended that you update your settings as soon as possible to gain benefit of the enhanced security features. Changes are required to the email server settings as detailed in the following Adobe Partner Announcements

  • To update your email settings, please see details as outlined on Adobe Partner Announcement, they recommend changing your password at the same time and list some FAQ's on this update.
    Please note: Outbound email server can alternatively be set to your ISP's server address eg: if your ISP is Telstra it may be: mail.bigpond.com (check with your ISP).
  • To re-configure your specific mail software, it's a case of simply editing your existing settings. Please see the Adobe User Manual and follow the step-by-step instructions that are relevant to your particular software if you prefer. You will need to change these settings on each computer and device you use for accessing the email account.

Please ensure you repeat this process for each email account you are running.

This is a simple procedure that only takes a few minutes per email account. It is recommended that you are confident with email settings, otherwise please engage the services of your IT provider of choice for assistance with these settings.

Please note the importance of completing this step before 31 March 2015 to ensure your emails are not disrupted. If this procedure is not carried out, your emails will not be accessible until you make these setting changes to your software
